How to begin wearing your orthoticsIf you ordered the length without a top cover, place them in your shoes. If they squeak, place powder (baby, anti-fungal, talc) in the bottom of the shoe.If you ordered one with a top cover, you should remove the shoe liner that comes with the shoe, if possible. Most good casual and athletic shoes have liners which are not glued down. If the shoe liner is not removable then just place them in your shoes. Trim the top cover material of the orthotic as necessary to fit into the shoe. Because the orthotics are firm and supportive, your feet may need some time to become accustomed to them. Wear them the first day as long as you can. If your feet become sore, remove them and try them later that day or the next. Slowly increase the time as you can. Most people need a week. Once you can wear them all day for casual use, you can them wear them for running or sports. |
